Compounding pharmacists are kind of like chemists in that they prepare drug products into a specific base at the request of a physician. Many times pharmacists must examine the chemical compatabilities and determine the best way to prepare an item. Sometimes it is like a cook that must work with a drug and find the best way to present it to a patient so that it tastes good.
Eric's Pharmacy has been a member of the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA) since 1997 and a member of the Oklahoma Compounders Group (OCG) since 2002. Eric and his staff of pharmacy technicians (Brent Brown and Rhonda Hilton) are highly trained, highly skilled compounders.
Medications can be incorporated into capsules, gels, liquids, ointments, troches, creams, suppositories, inhaled solutions, and injectable solutions. Suspensions can be flavored to be more palatable for children. We work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to make medications more available to the patient.
